Structural Wonders of Pakistan –

8 Types Of Traditional Houses We Live In

Pakistani architecture varies from place to place – every part of Pakistan caters to different people who prefer living in different types of homes, due to a number of reasons.
The choice of different architecture comes after taking many issues in account – the environment, weather, the locals and most of all.. their budget. However, a home is a home – and everybody loves their own the same.
Here are a few absolutely phenomenal, cultural and traditional houses that native people live in from all over Pakistan.

President of Pakistan

AoA

President Mamnoon Hussain was born on December 23, 1940 at Agra, British India. He migrated to Pakistan in 1949 with his entire family.

Mr. Mamnoon Hussain received his education in Karachi. He did his B.Com (Hons.) from Karachi University in 1963, and then joined the prestigious Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi from where he completed his M.B.A. in 1965.He joined his father’s factory on completion of his education. Later, he shifted to textile business.

President Mamnoon Hussain entered the Pakistani politics with a missionary and reformative zeal in 1968. He joined Muslim League in Karachi and soon became Joint Secretary of the City Organization. He entered the national politics by joining Pakistan Muslim League (N) in 1993. In view of his integrity and commitment, he was appointed the Finance Secretary of the PML (N), Sindh. In 2001, he was given the portfolio of the General Secretary of the PML (N), Sindh, and he continued in that office until 2005. His formidable stature as a veteran politician earned him the honour of the Acting President of the PML (N), Sindh. In recognition of his meritorious services for his party, he was appointed Senior Vice President (SVP) of the PML (N) and Member of the Central Executive Committee in 2005. In 1997-98, he was appointed Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh. In 1999, he was elected to the coveted position of the President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI).
In June 1999, he went on to become the Governor of Sindh, but his term was cut short on October 12, 1999 when the PML (N) government was removed. His credentials as a politician devoted to the cause of democracy were established when he became a political prisoner after raising his voice against the totalitarian regime of the then military dictator.
In landslide victory, Mr. Mamnoon Hussain was elected as the 12th President of Pakistan through his official nomination made by PML (N). He took the oath of office on September 09, 2013. Since he has a firm belief that the office of the President of Pakistan is a symbol of Federation and should be apolitical, therefore, he has resigned from the PML (N). Mr. Mamnoon Hussain is known as a man of impeccable integrity and courage against all odds.

Beauty of culture within culture

AoA

From the photographer Salman Alam Khan:
"I traveled across Sindh & found really interesting cultures. This is the picture of a Hindu girl who is coming back after giving lunch to her husband. She is wearing bangles & decorated dress for her husband who is working hard in the fields.
Its their tradition that the ladies never show their faces to unknown people but they dress up well for their husbands, no matter how poor they are. This shows their love and respect for each other.
I appreciate & respect their tradition smile emoticon "

Pakistan National Book Foundation

AoA

One of the things I love the most in my job is the privilege of going to amazing places. Today I visited, together with my Ambassador and the Ambassador of Portugal, Pakistan National Book Foundation. There I met great people who are in love with what they do. Also, I had an experience that many Muslims have not had yet: see the smallest an the biggest Quran in size. And they are more than 400 years. What a great morning!! The pictures below were taken inside the museum.

Cheerful, healthy and full of life, it seems as if the people of Hunza Valley belong to another planet. They eat fresh apricots, breathe the mountainous air, look youthful and they hardly ever get sick.

AoA,

Akhtar, 53, decided to step out of Pakistan's traditional domestic rule which requires women to stay home.

Breaking stereotypes and driving through gender-based obstacles, Shamim Akhtar from Rawalpindi is Pakistan’s first female truck driver.

This is Pakistan

AoA

Please watch this beautiful video. I am so excited!! Looking forward to watching the series.

https://www.facebook.com/theglobetrotterspk/videos/676360075834528/

The Globetrotters

Countless people were involved in this international collaboration, and we still have much to do in #Pakistan. Many provided support in tangible ways, while others quietly supported behind the scenes. All are remembered in my prayers.
Pakistan is always an ‪#‎adventure‬: akin to riding a roller coaster at an amusement park- there are ups and downs. One knows going in to anticipate the unexpected.
There are many who view Pakistan through a negative lens- without ever having visited the country. Why should I follow suit, and replicate what so many have done before? This is not to say we ignore concerns, and this is not to say Pakistan is perfect. No country is perfect. ‪#‎America‬ is not perfect.
On the people-to-people level, I believe if we want change, we must model behaviours conducive to an environment of change. Most Pakistanis in the rural areas have never been to America and rarely get a chance to meet Americans, to see how ‪#‎generous‬ and ‪#‎friendly‬ most Americans really are; all they 'know' is what is shown on the news. How unfortunate would it be to spend your life distrusting or hating another ‪#‎culture‬ without ever having known how ‪#‎hospitable‬ the vast majority of the people really are.
In this adventure documentary reality series, we will avoid politics and bureaucracy as much as possible. We will focus on the 95% of Pakistan that is rarely seen. We intend to show the rural life and the modern technologies; the tonga (donkey) carts and sports car races; the mud huts, ‪#‎archaeological‬ sites and the brand new malls/skyscrapers; the ‪#‎ICT‬ and ‪#‎telemedicine‬ technologies used for education and training; all the while taking a foodie/cultural tour through the country. I love my Doodh Patti!
The ‪#‎Diaspora‬ will play a critical role in this journey as well: from Los Angeles to NYC and beyond, we will include conversations from Pakistani's all over the world, sharing their involvement in the development of their home country.
Presenting the final cut for the preview: ‪#‎EmergingFaceOfPakistan‬

Singer: Haroon

iss watan pe jaan-o-dil qurban

qurbaniya kitni, deyker aazadi laaye
mai to yeh chahoun, sari dunya hi yeh jane
dil se, mai nai dekha pakistan
jan se, mera dharti pe eemaan
dil se, mai nai chaha pakistan
jaan se, mera dharti pe eeman

yeh mera pakistan, jaan-o-dil qurban

qurbaniya kitni, deyker aazadi laaye
mai to yeh chahoun, sari dunya hi yeh jane
dil se, mai nai dekha pakistan
jan se, mera dharti pe eeman
dil se, mai nai chaha pakistan
jan se, mera dharti pe eeman

dekho kaise rang rang ke phool khile
dekho to kaisi khushboo
dheeray dheeray jaisay sub'ho se shaam dhalay
jahan zindagi hai har soo
yuN milain gai jaise milta hai, neher se kinara
yuN chalain gai jaise chalta hai zindagi ka dhara
milke yahan saray jaana aagey hi chahein
jo bhi hain rahain, sari jeene ki hain rahain

dil se, mai nai dekha pakistan
jan se, mera dharti pe eeman
dil se, mai nai chaha pakistan
jan se, mera dharti pe eeman
dil se, maine dekha Pakistan
jaan se, mera dharti pe eeman

Dil se..paakistan
